FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pictured above with Obie are Tricia Passariello and Tony Candido, Board Chair, both of Easter Seals, Connecticut.

Ken, better known as Obie Harrington-Howes, and his friends started a grant foundation in 1997 to assist people with spinal cord injuries in Connecticut.  97 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to helping those individuals with spinal cord injuries improve their quality of life and their independence by assisting them with non-reimbursable medical expenses.

People touched by the generosity of the Obie Harrington-Howes foundation include clients from the Easter Seals Mobility Center who have had assistance with funding adapted minivans and vehicles, along with many other people in the community who have had assistance getting back to work or to school or with just gaining greater independence.

Ken himself, as well as the Obie Harrington Howes Foundation, continues to make contributions to individuals with spinal cord injures that change their lives.  For their efforts and dedication, the Obie Harrington-Howes Foundation is the recipient of the Easter Seals 2007 Mobility Award.

For further information, please contact the Foundation at (888)265-5859 or P.O. 2221, Darien, CT 06820.
